Ferocactus glaucescens, known as the Blue Barrel Cactus, is a slow-growing, globose to cylindrical succulent native to Mexico. It features a distinct glaucous blue-green body with 11 to 15 sharp ribs adorned with long, golden-yellow spines. In late spring, it produces a crown of lemon-yellow, funnel-shaped flowers. Ideal for desert landscapes, rock gardens, or containers, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun to light shade, requiring minimal water once established.
