Create design onlineAbout 'Firefly Fuchsia' Yarrow
‘Firefly Fuchsia’ yarrow is an upright perennial with fern-like green foliage and deep fuchsia-pink flowers that fade to light pink. Its sturdy, branching stems carry broad clusters of blooms through summer, creating a strong color accent in sunny borders and containers.
## Form and flowering
Proven Winners lists a mature height of 22–24 inches and spread of 26–30 inches, with USDA Zones 3–8. The patent describes a billowy habit and records about seven weeks of bloom from late June on a three-year-old Michigan trial plant, with repeat bloom after deadheading. The exact cultivar profile lists Border, Cut Flower, Dried Flower, and Mass Planting uses, along with a Filler container role. Its plant patent USPP 36,566 was granted on March 25, 2025.
## Growing conditions
Plant in full sun and well-drained average or poor soil. Proven Winners lists average water needs, drought and salt tolerance, bee and butterfly attraction, and deer and rabbit resistance. Its [yarrow care guide](https://serv3.provenwinners.com/learn/how-plant/yarrow) recommends watering regularly until roots establish; established plants tolerate dry periods. See the [cultivar profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/achillea/firefly-fuchsia-yarrow-achillea-hybrid) and [USPP 36,566](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP36566P2/en) for exact-cultivar details.
## Maintenance
Water new plants as they establish, then let well-drained soil dry between waterings. Remove faded flowers to encourage repeat bloom and cut the plant back by half after flowering, as Proven Winners recommends. Allow room for its 26–30-inch spread.
