‘Ozark Beauty’ is a traditional everbearing garden strawberry grown for repeated harvests of red fruit. In Colorado, this type usually gives a main early-summer crop followed by another crop in late summer or early fall, with smaller amounts between the main harvests.
## Siting and fruiting
The [Colorado State University Extension guide](https://extension.colostate.edu/resource/strawberries-for-the-home-garden/) lists ‘Ozark Beauty’ among common everbearing varieties and recommends the hill system for everbearing plants. The [Iowa State University container guide](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/how-to/how-grow-strawberries-containers) identifies it as a good everbearing cultivar and notes that strawberries need full sun and consistent moisture.
## Growing in a bed or container
Plant with the crown level with the soil surface. Because strawberry roots are shallow, check moisture regularly, especially in containers, which can dry quickly. A large pot or strawberry jar can display flowers and fruit, but container plants generally produce less than garden beds.
## Maintenance
Remove the first flush of flowers on newly planted everbearing strawberries to help plants establish. Pick berries when uniformly red, remove diseased leaves or fruit, and remove extra runners when growing plants in the hill system.
