About Tribute Everbearing Strawberry

‘Tribute’ is a day-neutral garden strawberry, Fragaria × ananassa, that repeats its crop rather than fruiting in only one short season. The selection produces glossy red berries with good flavor, and its flowering and harvest can continue from spring into fall. [McKay Nursery](https://www.mckaynursery.com/tribute-strawberry) identifies the cultivar, reports a 6–12 inch plant height and 12–18 inch spread, and lists zones 3–8; the original cultivar paper describes it as an everbearing strawberry. ## Harvest and placement Grow it in a sunny bed or container with well-drained soil. Day-neutral plants can produce over an extended period, though heat and site conditions affect flowering and yield. Purdue Extension recommends ‘Tribute’ for cooler climates and notes that cultivar performance varies by site. ## Growing conditions Keep the root zone evenly supplied with water during active growth and remove weeds that compete with its shallow roots. The short stature suits a kitchen garden, raised bed, or accessible container. ## Maintenance Pinch early flowers on newly planted stock if establishing stronger plants is the priority. Remove runners when you want to direct more growth toward fruit, and renew an aging planting as productivity declines.
