Golden Weeping Ash is a deciduous ornamental tree with a rounded crown and pendulous branches. Its bright green foliage turns golden yellow in autumn, while inconspicuous yellowish-green flowers appear in spring.
## Landscape use
Use it as a feature or specimen tree where there is room for its spreading crown. The [ACT Government fact sheet](https://www.cityservices.act.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/1502816/Fraxinus-excelsior-Aurea-Pendula.pdf) gives a typical size of 7 metres tall by 8 metres wide and notes that final height varies with graft height.
## Siting
This ash is suited to temperate climates and performs best with moist soil and reasonable fertility. The ACT guide cautions that it has low drought tolerance and high frost tolerance, so choose a site where soil moisture can be maintained and avoid placing it near creeks or other watercourses.
## Maintenance
Growth is moderate. Formative pruning can maintain a smaller, formal specimen shape; allow the natural weeping branches to remain visible when there is enough space. The ACT guide also reports nectar-producing flowers that attract bees, birds, and butterflies.
