About Fruit Punch® Maraschino Pinks

Fruit Punch® Maraschino is a compact dianthus with fragrant double cherry-red flowers above silvery-blue, spiky foliage. It forms a low mound about 9–11 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide, suited to the front of a sunny planting. ## Garden placement Use this selection along a path, at the front of a border, or in a container where its flower color and rounded habit can be seen up close. This is the named ‘Maraschino’ selection in the Fruit Punch® series. The breeder lists spring and summer flowering, with early summer as the main bloom period, and notes repeat flowering after trimming. [Proven Winners](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/dianthus/fruit-punch-maraschino-pinks-dianthus-hybrid) reports the cultivar identity, mature dimensions, and flower and foliage details. [Walters Gardens](https://www.waltersgardens.com/variety.php?ID=DIAMA) also documents this cultivar’s silver-blue foliage and red flowers. ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun to part shade in loose, well-drained soil. Average moisture is suitable; water during prolonged dry spells and avoid waterlogged conditions. The listed hardiness range is USDA zones 4–9. These conditions support the compact mound and help keep flowering stems and foliage healthy. ## Maintenance Remove spent flowers or shear lightly after the main flush to keep the plant tidy and encourage additional bloom. Water during extended dry periods, especially while plants establish, and maintain good drainage through winter.
