Funyella Clematis

Funyella is a deciduous clematis with nodding yellow flowers marked by pink or maroon at the base. This branded selection is the cultivar 'Golden Dream', a repeat-flowering climber with a light citrus scent and a compact form for a trellis or container. ## Cultivar and flowering Proven Winners lists Funyella as Clematis hybrid 'Golden Dream' and gives mature dimensions of 6–10 feet high by 3–4 feet wide. The plant patent describes yellow flowers with a maroon base, spring flowering followed by summer rebloom, and a light citrus fragrance; Proven Winners describes canary-yellow flowers with pink tints and a grapefruit-like scent. Flowers hang downward from the stems. ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun or part shade with good drainage. Keep the roots cool and shaded with mulch or nearby low plants while allowing the vines to reach light. Proven Winners lists USDA zones 4a–9b and average water needs. ## Landscape use Provide support from planting time, such as a trellis, railing, mailbox post, or nearby shrub. The vine suits borders, containers, and focal points where its unusual pendulous flowers can be seen. ## Maintenance This selection is low maintenance and needs little to no pruning. If shaping or cleanup is needed, Proven Winners recommends a light trim after the spring bloom.
