Sunrita® Burgundy Gaillardia

Sunrita® Burgundy is a mounding blanket flower selected for its burgundy-red blooms and long season of color. This full-sun perennial reaches about 14–18 inches tall and wide, with flowers from spring through fall in suitable growing conditions. ## Site and season Plant it in full sun and well-drained soil. The breeder describes the Sunrita® series as heat-loving and drought tolerant, with a well-branched habit suited to containers. [Syngenta Flowers’ Burgundy profile](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70060851) identifies the series and product code and gives a 14–18 inch garden size and hardiness range of zones 4a–9a. [University of Wisconsin–Madison Extension](https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/blanket-flower-gaillardia-spp/) describes the Burgundy selection as red with a dark center and lists the Sunrita® series as hardy to zone 4a. ## Garden use The rounded form fits sunny beds and patio containers. Its bright flowers add contrast among grasses and other perennials, and the series is listed as pollinator friendly. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and during extended dry spells; established plants tolerate drought. Keep the crown and surrounding soil well drained, and remove faded blooms if you want a tidier display.
