## Landscape value
Firewheel is a colorful blanket flower with daisy-like heads, often red toward the center with yellow or orange tips. It is usually grown as an annual and may reseed; flower color and life span vary. Group it in a sunny wildflower bed or pollinator planting, leaving space for its upright stems. The New Mexico Fire Wise guide lists it at roughly 1–2 feet tall with low to moderate water needs and full sun.
## Growing conditions and maintenance
Provide sun and freely draining soil. Water while plants establish, then adjust irrigation to local weather and soil; avoid waterlogged ground. Remove spent flowers for a tidy display, or allow some seed heads to mature if reseeding is welcome. Clear dead material as part of local defensible-space maintenance. The New Mexico listing is conditional guidance, not a guarantee that the plant will not burn. Check local suitability and seed origin.
