About Bantam® White - Gaura

Bantam® White is a compact gaura selection with white flowers on short, upright stems above mounded foliage. Its small footprint works well in sunny borders, containers, and mass plantings. ## Garden Use Allow 12 to 16 inches of height and 18 to 22 inches of spread, the dimensions listed for this selection by [Lucas Greenhouses](https://www.lucasgreenhouses.com/plant/Gaura-lindheimeri-Bantam-White). The compact plant can soften the front of a bed or brighten a container with pale flowers. [Hoffie Nursery](https://www.hoffienursery.com/plant-name/Gaura-lindheimeri-Bantam-White-Bantam) describes the white flowering selection as early blooming, useful in containers, and attractive to butterflies. ## Growing Conditions Grow in full sun or partial sun in well-drained soil. The listed hardiness range is USDA Zones 5 through 10. Leave roughly 10 to 12 inches between plants when filling a bed, and avoid sites that remain waterlogged. ## Maintenance Water regularly while roots establish, then let the soil dry slightly between waterings. Remove spent stems or tidy the plant in early spring before fresh growth resumes. In containers, check moisture more often because pots dry faster than garden soil.
