About Bantam® White Whirling Butterflies

Bantam® White is a compact gaura whose pink buds open to bright white flowers on short, sturdy stems above dense foliage. Green Fuse lists 12–16 inches tall by 18–22 inches wide and USDA zones 5–10 for the Bantam series, consistent with the existing catalog dimensions. See the [Green Fuse culture sheet](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Gaura-Bantam.pdf) and [University of Wisconsin Extension care guidance](https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/gaura-gaura-lindheimeri/). ## Garden placement Plant it in full sun and well-drained soil. The compact form fits borders, containers and grouped plantings, where the open flower stems create a light, animated effect. The white blooms stand out in evening gardens and are visited by butterflies. ## Seasonal display Flowers appear through summer and fall. Pink buds add a brief color accent before opening white, so both tones are retained in the catalog flower-color value. ## Maintenance Keep new plants evenly watered while their roots establish; established gaura can tolerate dry spells. Remove selected spent stems for a tidier display and more flowers. Cut old flower spikes back in fall and remove dead foliage in spring.
