About GAUDI™ Pink Whirling Butterflies

GAUDI™ Pink is a compact selection of gaura with light pink, butterfly-shaped flowers above burgundy-tinted stems. It grows to about 12 inches tall and 14 inches wide, with flowers from June through October and reddish foliage in cool spring and autumn weather. ## Garden Use Place this low mound at the front of a sunny border or in a container, where its branching stems and long display can be seen close by. The selection is marketed as GAUDI Pink and is also listed under the name ‘Florgaucompi’ in the [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/344204/gaura-lindheimeri-gaudi-pink/details). Its light flowers, dark buds, and red-tinted stems create contrast in a small space. ## Growing Conditions Choose full sun or light shade and a very well-drained growing medium. The [GAUDI Pink profile](https://e-katalogroslin.pl/pdf/11155,gaura-lindheimera-gaudi-pink-florgaupi_gaura-lindheimeri-gaudi-pink-florgaupi) gives a mature size of about 30 cm by 35 cm and a flowering period from June to October. It notes that the foliage can take on red or pink tones in cool weather and that butterflies and other pollinating insects visit the flowers. ## Maintenance Water after planting and during extended dry spells while the roots establish. Remove stems that have finished flowering if a tidier outline is desired, and keep the crown out of waterlogged soil. The compact habit suits small spaces, so allow its natural mound to fill rather than crowding it with taller plants.
