Gazoo™ Red with Ring Gazania

Gazoo™ Red with Ring is an open-pollinated Gazania rigens selection with large red flowers marked by contrasting rings. Syngenta lists it for mid-spring through summer, with a vigorous mounded habit and an expected garden size of 10–12 inches tall by 12–14 inches wide. ## Placement Give this heat-loving plant full sun and freely draining soil. Its broader spread and large blooms make it useful in a showy container or the front of a sunny landscape bed; the sturdy stems keep the flowers visible above the foliage. It can stand in for hybrid gazanias where bold color and a traditional ringed flower are wanted. ## Seasonal interest Treat it as a warm-season annual in most regions. The red flowers add a strong spring-and-summer accent, and Gazania blooms open most fully in bright sunshine, closing when light is low. ## Maintenance Remove spent blooms as needed and provide water during long dry spells, especially while plants settle in.
