Kiss™ Red Gazania

Kiss™ Red is an upright Gazania rigens selection in Syngenta Flowers’ Kiss series. Its red flower heads rise above green foliage, and the breeder lists plants about 8–10 inches tall and wide. Compact branching and flowering from mid-spring into summer make it a useful choice for a sunny pot or the front of a warm-season planting. ## Siting and soil Give this gazania full sun and soil that drains freely. Sandy soil or ordinary garden soil is suitable; avoid sites that stay wet, since prolonged moisture can lead to root problems. Water young plants while they establish, then allow the soil to dry between waterings. ## Seasonal display The Kiss series produces several large blooms on short, sturdy stems and tolerates heat and drought after establishment. Gazania flowers open in bright light and may close at night or on cloudy days.
