Kiss™ Yellow Gazania

Kiss™ Yellow Gazania is a compact, mounding Gazania rigens with bright yellow, daisy-shaped flowers above green foliage. Syngenta lists this selection in its Kiss™ series, grown in full sun and reaching about 8–10 inches tall and wide, with flowering from mid to late spring into summer. ## Garden Use Use this low mound along sunny borders and garden edges or in containers, where its repeated flowers make a bright seasonal accent. The sunny yellow color makes a clear accent in a mass or mixed container. Gazania blossoms open in sunshine and close when the weather is cloudy or dark, so choose an open site for the best daytime display. ## Growing Conditions Provide full sun and moderately fertile soil that drains freely; loam or sandy beds suit gazanias. Syngenta describes the Kiss™ and Frosty Kiss™ series as heat and drought tolerant. The Royal Horticultural Society recommends watering Gazania rigens during prolonged dry spells. The species may persist as an evergreen perennial in mild regions, but it is commonly grown as an annual where winters are cold. ## Maintenance Remove faded flower heads regularly to keep the planting tidy and encourage continued flowering. Routine pruning is not needed. Protect the plant from frost where it is grown as a perennial, and avoid waterlogged soil.
