New Day® 'Strawberry Shortcake' African Daisy

New Day® 'Strawberry Shortcake' is sold as a mixed-color Gazania rigens for sunny beds and containers. The New Day series has a compact habit and large daisy-like flowers; a retail listing places plants around 8–12 inches tall and 6–8 inches wide. ## Site and Season Use this mix at the edge of a sunny border, in a container, or as a low groundcover in well-drained soil. The flowers begin in late spring and continue through summer, with fall bloom possible in warm climates. The mix includes pink, white, and striped tones. ## Maintenance Water regularly while new plants establish, then allow excess water to drain freely. Remove faded flowers for a tidier display and to encourage continued flowering.
