About Calliope® Large Lavender Geranium

Calliope® Large Lavender is an interspecific pelargonium selected for large lavender blooms and a vigorous, mounding habit. It brings sustained color to sizeable containers and hanging baskets, and also suits a sunny planting bed. ## Garden use The breeder lists this color variety as item 70069761, with a mature height of 16–20 inches and a spread of 20–24 inches. Its broad mound fills a large pot or basket, while the lavender flowers provide a cool-toned contrast among warmer annuals. The breeder reports flowering from mid spring through summer and identifies the variety as pollinator friendly. ## Growing conditions Grow it in full sun or part sun, allowing at least four hours of direct sunlight. Choose a free-draining mix and water once the surface begins to dry; avoid leaving the roots in standing water. Established Calliope plants tolerate heat and can manage drier intervals, though container plants should be checked during hot spells. See the [Syngenta product page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70069761) for the variety’s dimensions and season, and [Calliope growing tips](https://calliope.flowers/tips/) for care guidance. ## Maintenance The plants are largely self-cleaning. Remove old flower stems at the base when you want to encourage additional blooms, and trim only as needed to keep the mound within its space.
