About Calliope® Lavender Rose Geranium

Calliope® Lavender Rose is the trade name for a lavender-rose flowering pelargonium with semi-double blooms and green, ivy-like foliage. Its mounding center and trailing stems suit baskets, window boxes, and containers where the flowers can spill over the edge. ## Garden use Allow approximately 12–20 inches of height and a 14–20 inch spread; published grower descriptions vary within that range. The flowers open from late spring into autumn, with the strongest display through summer. The Royal Horticultural Society records the selection as Pelargonium [Calliope Lavender Rose] ('Peqz0002'), while Burpee lists the plant as an annual for seasonal displays. ## Growing conditions Place it in full sun and use well-drained potting mix. Water regularly while it establishes, then allow the surface to begin drying between waterings; hot weather and containers increase the need to check moisture. This selection tolerates heat and short dry spells, but continued flowering is better with consistent care. [Burpee’s product page](https://www.burpee.com/products/geranium-calliope-lavender-rose-prod099594) gives its size and bloom timing, and the [RHS listing](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/355708/pelargonium-calliope-lavender-rose-peqz0002/details) supports its botanical identity. ## Maintenance Calliope Lavender Rose is largely self-cleaning, but remove spent flower stems to encourage fresh growth and keep the display tidy. Check hanging baskets and small pots frequently during hot, dry weather.
