About Dynamo™ Scarlet Geranium

Dynamo™ Scarlet is a medium, upright zonal geranium selected for bright scarlet flowers and crisp, medium-green foliage. Ball FloraPlant lists a mature height and spread of 12–14 inches and recommends this uniform selection for gardens and large containers ([Ball FloraPlant](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Details/?phid=028900475004940)). ## Garden use The compact size works in sunny annual beds, patio pots, and larger mixed containers where a strong red accent is useful. Its upright, evenly branching habit helps keep a planting orderly while the flowers provide a clear focal color. ## Growing conditions Give the plant full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. University of Illinois Extension describes zonal geraniums as bedding and container annuals that bloom from May into October; full sun supports flowering, and soil should stay moist without becoming waterlogged ([Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/geranium)). ## Seasonal interest Ball describes the Dynamo series as producing a powerful first flush followed by more continuous blooms. This makes Scarlet useful for sustained warm-season color in beds and containers, with local timing shaped by planting date and weather. ## Maintenance Water when the growing mix begins to dry and avoid overwatering in hot weather. Remove faded flower stems to encourage continued display and reduce conditions that favor botrytis; protect the tender annual from frost.
