About Focus™ Red Ice Geranium

Focus™ Red Ice is an ivy-leaved geranium with red flower clusters streaked in white and a trailing habit. It suits sunny edges, containers, and hanging baskets, where stems can spill over the rim while green foliage fills the planting. ## Landscape Use Use it as a spiller in a basket or mixed container, or along a low border and in mass plantings. Armstrong lists red flowers from late spring into early fall and notes that the flowers can be cut. Ball's current catalog places Focus™ in its ivy geranium group, while a Colorado container trial records Focus Red Ice as an ivy geranium with red-and-white flowers. ## Growing Conditions Grow in full sun or partial shade. Keep the potting mix evenly moist, then let excess water drain; this selection does not tolerate standing water. Published size depends on growing conditions: Armstrong lists 8 inches tall by 12 inches wide, while the Colorado trial measured plants up to 17 by 25 inches in containers. See the [Armstrong plant profile](https://shop.armstronggarden.com/products/geranium-ivy-focus-red-ice), [Ball FloraPlant catalog](https://catalog.ballfloraplant.com/view/674534115/177/), and [Colorado container-trial report](https://spl.cde.state.co.us/artemis/ucsuserials/ucsu53010internet/ucsu530102013internet.pdf). ## Maintenance Remove faded flower heads to encourage later blooms and keep the trailing stems tidy. Check container moisture more often during warm weather, since hanging baskets dry faster than garden beds.
