About Nano Violet Geranium

Nano™ Violet is a seed-grown, naturally dwarf zonal geranium with violet flower clusters and compact, dark foliage. Its short, non-stretching habit is suited to packs, small tabletop pots, window boxes, and the front of an annual border. ## Seasonal Interest The Nano series is selected for early flowering and abundant color through the growing season. Violet flowers add a cool, saturated accent in mixed containers or repeated along a sunny bed. [Hem Genetics identifies Violet as a Nano color and describes the season-long, compact series](https://www.hemgenetics.nl/en/assortment/geranium/nano). ## Growing Conditions Use full sun and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Set plants outside after frost danger has passed, and provide drainage in pots and window boxes. Water when the soil surface begins to dry rather than keeping the roots saturated. [Illinois Extension’s guide to Pelargonium × hortorum](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/geranium) recommends full sun, well-drained soil, and avoiding overwatering. ## Maintenance Remove faded flower stems to keep the plant tidy and support continued bloom. Check containers often in warm weather, let excess water drain, and clear damaged leaves to keep the compact canopy open.
