‘Pinto™ Premium Violet’ is an F1 seed geranium (Pelargonium × hortorum) with an upright, well-branched habit and violet flower clusters. Syngenta lists full sun, mid-to-late spring and summer flowering, and a mature size of 14–16 inches tall by 12–14 inches wide for this color selection ([Syngenta Flowers](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70006956)); the exact Lavender Rose listing also describes its blooms as hot pink ([Vite Greenhouses](https://vitegreenhouses.com/plantresults.asp?Query=55&hiddensearch=Pelargonium)).
## Placement and seasonal use
Use this compact selection in sunny beds, borders, window boxes, or containers where its violet blooms can be seen up close. Garden geraniums perform best in fertile, well-drained soil with at least six hours of direct sun; partial shade can reduce flowering. Set plants outdoors after frost danger has passed. For containers, water when the soil surface feels dry; beds need a deep soak during extended dry weather. [Iowa State University Extension](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/faq/how-do-i-care-garden-geraniums) covers these siting and watering practices for garden geraniums.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flower stems through the growing season to encourage additional blooms and keep the plant tidy. Keep the root zone draining freely and avoid frequent overhead watering, which can leave foliage and flowers wet. Pinto™ Premium is a seed-raised annual selection, so in cold-winter gardens it is usually replanted after frost rather than expected to overwinter outdoors.
