About Biokovo Hardy Geranium

Geranium × cantabrigiense ‘Biokovo’ forms a low, spreading mat of aromatic, rounded leaves that often hold through mild winters. Its five-petaled flowers are white with a faint pink flush at the petal bases and deeper pink stamens; Penn State Extension reports a mature height of 6–12 inches and a 12–18 inch spread, while the RHS lists a broader potential spread for established plants. It tolerates full shade and suits well-drained chalk, clay, loam, or sandy soil. The foliage can turn red in autumn, adding color after its late-spring to early-summer flowering period. ## Maintenance Water new plantings until established. After flowering, remove spent stems and tired leaves if a fresh foliage mound is wanted; divide established clumps when they need renewal or control.
