Geranium × cantabrigiense ‘Karmina’ is a low-growing, mat-forming cranesbill with fragrant, rounded leaves and clusters of pink flowers. The RHS describes semi-evergreen foliage and lilac-pink blooms opening from dark red buds in early and mid-summer; a North American perennial profile gives a mature size of about 6–8 inches tall by 18–23 inches wide. ## Garden Use
Plant ‘Karmina’ along a border edge, over a low bank, or in a mass where its spreading foliage can join into groundcover. It grows in full sun or partial shade and accepts a range of well-drained soils, including chalk, clay, loam, and sand. Its spring-to-summer flowers and red winter foliage tints provide interest across several seasons.
## Maintenance
Water new plants while they establish. Trim away faded flower stems or untidy foliage when needed, and divide the mat in spring or early autumn if it outgrows its space.
