Cartwheel® Chardonnay Gerbera

Cartwheel® Chardonnay is a seed-raised F1 Gerbera jamesonii in Syngenta’s Cartwheel® series, selected for large semi-double flowers and a vigorous, upright habit. The series is intended for premium container displays and flowers from mid-spring into summer. [Syngenta Flowers lists Chardonnay as product 70019517](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70019517). ## Garden Use Use this compact clumping daisy in a patio pot, mixed container, or the front of a sunny border. Its display pairs well with foliage plants and other seasonal flowers; the series is promoted for larger pots and has a longer flower life after sale. ## Growing Conditions Choose sun or partial shade and provide fertile, well-drained growing medium. Keep the soil evenly moist during active growth while allowing excess water to drain, and keep the crown above wet soil. The [RHS gerbera guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/gerbera/growing-guide) recommends free-draining compost and careful watering because persistent wetness can rot the crown. Protect this tender selection from cold; bring container plants under cover before frost. ## Maintenance Remove fading flower stems at their base to encourage further flowering and keep the display tidy. Water at the root zone and avoid leaving the pot standing in water.
