Cocktail™ Tequila Sunrise Avens

Tequila Sunrise is a named Geum hybrid in the Cocktails series, valued for semi-double yellow flowers with rose-colored tips. The flowers rise above a mound of lobed green foliage from late spring into early summer. ## Growing Conditions Grow in sun or light shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, and avoid winter waterlogging. The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/316507/geum-tequila-sunrise-cocktails-series/details) lists a clump-forming habit and flowers in pale apricot yellow with rose margins. The plant patent records the cultivar name ‘Tequila Sunrise’ and an average height and width of 35 cm, while the [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/316507/geum-tequila-sunrise-cocktails-series/details) describes plants around 40 cm high in flower. These primary and horticultural records support a compact size near 14–16 inches; larger nursery listings differ. ## Garden Use Use this selection in a cottage border, patio container, or cut-flower bed. Its yellow petals and rose tips add a warm, two-tone accent among spring and early-summer perennials. ## Maintenance Water during dry periods while plants establish. Remove faded flower stems to encourage more blooms. Divide clumps every few years if the center weakens. See the [RHS care notes](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/316507/geum-tequila-sunrise-cocktails-series/details) for siting and division guidance; the [patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP21514P2/en) documents the selection’s flower color and average plant measurements.
