Gold Splash® is the trade name of Euonymus fortunei 'Roemertwo', a low-growing evergreen wintercreeper selected for bold foliage. Its large, rounded leaves have broad golden-yellow margins, and the plant forms a compact mound. The [breeder's profile](https://springmeadownursery.com/plantfinder/gold-splash-25660) describes the stable variegation and gives a height of 1.5–2 feet.
## Placement
Use Gold Splash for a bright edge, foundation planting, or small groundcover area. It grows in full sun or part sun and adapts to well-drained garden soil. The breeder lists USDA zones 5–8 and a spread of 1.5–2.5 feet; allow enough room for stems to widen over time. Its yellow-and-green leaves provide lasting color, while the small greenish flowers are inconspicuous.
## Soil and watering
Plant in moist but well-drained soil and avoid sites that remain wet. The [breeder's growing notes](https://springmeadownursery.com/plantfinder/gold-splash-25660) recommend pruning as needed in early spring. Sun helps maintain strong variegation.
## Maintenance
Check the planting edge for stems that extend beyond the intended area, and trim as needed in early spring. Wintercreeper spreads by creeping stems; keep it within maintained beds. For broader species-level planting context, see the [Morton Arboretum guide](https://mortonarb.org/plant-and-protect/trees-and-plants/wintercreeper/).
