About Golden Butterfly® Marguerite Daisy

Golden Butterfly® is a free-flowering Marguerite Daisy with a dense, bushy shape and large golden ray florets surrounding yellow-orange centers. It is the named trade selection of the ‘G15101’ cultivar, a distinct selection from the related Vanilla Butterfly® (‘G15104’). ## Flowers and Garden Use The plant branches freely and carries single daisy-like flower heads. The U.S. patent describes darker yellow rays than the ‘Butterfly’ parent and distinguishes ‘G15101’ from ‘G15104’ by its darker yellow rays and larger flower heads. It suits sunny beds and containers where its yellow flowers can be enjoyed up close. The Canadian variety record describes a rounded, dense plant and medium-green leaves. ## Siting and Size Grow in full sun for best flowering; some shade is also listed for this selection. The current compact size information is consistent with the garden-scale plant described by its breeder and Canadian variety record. The patent identifies USDA zones 10–11 and tolerance of rain, wind, and brief low temperatures near 1.7°C; winter survival will still depend on local conditions. ## Maintenance Provide a well-drained growing site and water during establishment and dry spells. The breeder describes free flowering and good garden performance; regular deadheading is not required by the available cultivar information.
