About Ping Pong Lavender Globe amaranth

Ping Pong Lavender is an upright globe amaranth with rounded lavender flower heads that bring a soft color accent to sunny beds and containers. Its taller stems give the flowers room above the foliage and make them easy to cut. ## Growing conditions Grow it in full sun and well-drained soil. Ball Seed lists this selection at about 16–20 inches tall and 8–10 inches wide, with a mounded-to-upright habit. Clemson Extension also identifies the lavender form and describes the Ping Pong series blooming from summer until frost. Water to establish a full root system, then provide supplemental water during extended dry weather. See [Ball Seed's Ping Pong Lavender plant profile](https://info.ballseed.com/webtrackplantinfo.aspx?ENV=P&phid=029807716002843) and [Clemson Extension's globe amaranth guide](https://hgic.clemson.edu/annual-globe-amaranth-gomphrena-globosa-in-south-carolina/) for cultivar and series details. ## Garden use and flowers Use Ping Pong Lavender as a cut flower, in a sunny border, or among other annuals in a container. The small globe heads are papery bracts surrounding tiny flowers, and they hold their form well when dried. Leave enough space for its upright stems and modest spread so neighboring plants do not cover the blooms. ## Maintenance Keep the soil evenly moist while young plants establish and avoid waterlogged conditions. Cut stems for arrangements through the season; remove the spent annual after frost.
