Create design onlineAbout QIS Mixture Gomphrena
QIS Mixture gomphrena combines spherical blooms in orange, red, and carmine on upright stems. PanAmerican Seed identifies QIS Mixture as a Gomphrena haageana selection in the QIS series, grown in sun for late-spring and summer color and professional fresh or dried cutting ([QIS Mixture product information](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/029801222003332/gomphrena-qis-mixture/)); a seed listing for the QIS mixed selection confirms its orange, red, and carmine range ([QIS mixed-seed description](https://www.chilternseeds.co.uk/item_646n_gomphrena_haageana_qis_series_mixed_seeds)).
## In the garden
Plant it in a sunny border or cutting bed for a concentrated blend of warm colors. PanAmerican Seed gives the QIS series a mature height of 24–26 inches and an 8–10 inch spread. As an annual, it provides one season of display and can be replanted each year.
## For cutting
Harvest when flower heads are rounded and colored, before they elongate. QIS stems are selected for cut-flower production and also dry well; the series guide recommends cutting flowers young when they are intended for dried arrangements ([QIS growing guide](https://easyseeds.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Gomphrena-tall-Qis-series.pdf)).
## Maintenance
Grow in full sun and water normally, with fertile soil for steady growth. During flowering, avoid overhead irrigation where practical. Regular stem harvests provide material for bouquets while keeping the mixed color show in use.
