Good Vibrations Privet

Good Vibrations® privet (Ligustrum ovalifolium ‘NCLO1’) is a deciduous shrub with vivid yellow foliage marked by green centers. Its slow growth and upright habit suit an accent planting or a colorful hedge. The [Proven Winners plant profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/ligustrum/good-vibrations-privet-ligustrum-ovalifolium) lists a mature height of 3–5 feet, a spread of 2 feet 6 inches to 4 feet, and USDA zones 6–9. ## Growing Conditions This privet grows in part shade through full sun and needs average watering. Its gold-and-green variegation brings bright color to mixed shrub borders and specimen plantings. The breeder lists heat tolerance through zone 9 and resistance to deer. ## Maintenance The slow growth rate means little, if any, pruning is needed. Allow the shrub to keep its natural upright form when grown as a specimen; for a hedge, prune only as needed to maintain the intended outline.
