Graceful Grasses® 'Ogon' Golden Variegated Sweet Flag

Graceful Grasses® 'Ogon' sweet flag is a compact, grass-like perennial grown for its bright gold foliage striped with green. Its upright clump works in moist borders, containers, or at pond edges. ## Landscape Use Use the fine leaves as an edging accent, in a container, or near a pond. Proven Winners lists a mature height of 6–12 inches, a 10–12-inch spread, and USDA zones 5–11; the Royal Horticultural Society describes a clump-forming, semi-evergreen marginal plant. It grows in sun to part shade and prefers consistently moist soil; Proven Winners also notes it can grow as a water plant. [Proven Winners](https://serv3.provenwinners.com/plants/acorus/graceful-grasses-ogon-golden-variegated-sweet-flag-acorus-gramineus) provides cultivar-specific size, color, and zone information, while the [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/83905/acorus-gramineus-%C5%8Dgon-v/details) describes its wet-site use and growth habit. ## Seasonal Interest The foliage is described as semi-evergreen by RHS and evergreen by Proven Winners, so winter retention may vary with climate and conditions. ## Maintenance Keep the root zone moist and do not let it dry for long periods. Divide congested clumps every few years near the start of the growing season, and tidy old or damaged leaves in spring if needed.
