About White grevillea

White grevillea is a medium to large, spreading Australian shrub with prickly, deeply divided leaves and clusters of white to pale pink flowers. It brings a natural, informal texture to sunny gardens and can provide a dense screen when given room to mature. ## Seasonal Interest Flowers are produced at branch ends, with the main display in winter and spring. Plants are variable across their native range and recognized subspecies, so the exact flowering window and leaf form can differ by provenance. The species is native to heath and woodland in southwestern Western Australia. ## Siting and Soil Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil. The Australian Native Plants Society describes typical mature dimensions of about 2–4 metres high and a similar width; the Western Australian Herbarium records a spreading shrub and sandy soils over granite or limestone. Keep the root zone open and avoid sites that remain waterlogged. ## Maintenance This species tolerates pruning, so selective trimming can keep a plant within its allotted space or remove wayward growth after flowering. Allow for its eventual spread when spacing it near paths, windows, or other shrubs.
