About Haworthia cooperi Haworthia

Haworthia cooperi is a compact, clump-forming succulent with fleshy pale-green leaves and translucent rounded or triangular tips. It remains small, with foliage to about 4 inches tall and clumps about 4 inches across; white to pinkish-white flowers rise above the leaves in spring or summer. [The RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/155369/haworthia-cooperi/details) describes its size and flowers, and [NParks](https://www.nparks.gov.sg/florafaunaweb/flora/4/2/4248) notes its compact rosettes and translucent leaf tips. ## Light and growing medium Grow it in a container with a standard cactus compost or a loose, sharply draining mix. The RHS recommends full light, low humidity, and a sheltered position; protect plants from freezing conditions. The species is native to South Africa’s Southern Cape Province, according to [Kew](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:536029-1/general-information). ## Water and growth Water freely while the plant is actively growing, then keep the mix just moist at other times. Avoid leaving the roots in saturated compost. Haworthia cooperi grows slowly and forms offsets, which can be separated for propagation. Its compact evergreen rosettes make it useful for a bright indoor display or a sheltered container planting. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stalks and damaged leaves as needed; routine pruning is unnecessary. Watch for mealybugs and keep the low clump clear of debris. Do not interpret RHS hardiness ratings as USDA zones; use local frost guidance when deciding whether to place it outdoors.
