Create design onlineAbout Heart to Heart® Va Va Violet™ Caladium
Heart to Heart® Va Va Violet™ is a strap-leaved caladium with unusual lavender-and-green foliage. This upright variety suits larger pots, hanging baskets, combination planters and shaded landscape plantings, where its violet-toned leaves add color through the warm growing season.
## Cultivar and size
The [Proven Winners profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/caladium/heart-heart-va-va-violet-shade-caladium-caladium-hortulanum) identifies Va Va Violet™ and describes its narrow strap leaves and lavender-and-green color. It lists a mature height of 15–20 inches and spread of 8–10 inches. The matching plant patent names cultivar ‘PSY LAV 2322-566B’; its grant and publication date is May 9, 2017.
## Siting
Provide part shade to shade outdoors, or bright light indoors. Caladiums favor warm, humid conditions and evenly moist soil, but do not tolerate cold, soggy conditions. The breeder lists USDA zones 10–11, so use it seasonally in colder climates or overwinter the tubers under protection.
## Maintenance
Keep soil evenly moist during active growth and allow excess water to drain. The breeder recommends temperatures above 65°F and modest, regular feeding. Caladiums may irritate if ingested. Before frost, lift tubers in climates where they cannot remain in the ground, then dry and store them for spring planting in line with UF/IFAS guidance.
