Create design onlineAbout Henfield Brilliant Sun Rose
Henfield Brilliant is a spreading evergreen sun rose with dark grey-green leaves and bright orange flowers. This named selection stays low, with the Royal Horticultural Society describing a mature height of about 30 cm and flowering in late spring and early summer. It suits open, sunny places where its flowers and mat-forming habit can be seen.
## Site and planting
Give the plant full sun and well-drained soil. The RHS lists chalk, loam, and sand, and recommends it for rock gardens, sunny banks, garden edging, and the front of a border. A nursery profile reports a spread near 30 cm, while the RHS gives a broader mature spread range; allow some room for outward growth. ## Seasonal interest
Single orange flowers appear in late spring and early summer above grey-green foliage. The evergreen leaves continue to provide a low, textured cover after flowering.
## Maintenance
Water regularly after planting until roots establish, then water sparingly during prolonged dry weather. Trim lightly after flowering to keep the mound neat and encourage fresh growth. Avoid cutting back into old woody stems, which may not reshoot reliably.
