About SOL SEEKER™ Honey Helianthus annuus

SOL SEEKER™ Honey is an upright, compact, branching annual sunflower with yellow flowers, dark centers, and dark green foliage. Its branching habit supports a full display in sunny borders, larger patio containers, and cut-flower beds. ## Garden use Danziger’s breeder guide specifies a mature size near 40 inches tall by 30 inches wide. [Emerisa Gardens](https://www.emerisa.com/plant/helhon1/helianthus-annuus-sol-seeker-honey) lists 28–36 inches tall by 24–36 inches wide, while the [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/529223/helianthus-sol-seeker-honey-sol-seeker-series/details) gives broader 0.5–1 metre ranges. Plan around the breeder’s dimensions while allowing for differences in growing conditions. The flowers are useful for cutting, and Emerisa notes visits from bees and butterflies. ## Growing conditions Give Honey full sun; Emerisa also lists part shade. The RHS recommends moist but well-drained soil and lists chalk, loam, or sand, while Emerisa describes moderate watering. The [Danziger SOL SEEKER™ guide](https://www.danzigeronline.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Helianthus-Sol-Seeker-2026.pdf) identifies Honey as an upright selection in the series. ## Maintenance Water regularly while plants establish and during dry weather, especially in containers. Remove spent flowers if you want a tidier display; the RHS says no routine pruning is required. Grow it as a warm-season annual and protect it from frost.
