About Silver Star Licorice Plant

Silver Star is a spreading, trailing selection of *Helichrysum petiolare* with soft silver foliage. It works as a low contrast plant in mixed containers, baskets, rock gardens, and borders. Nursery profiles report cream flowers in summer and mature dimensions that vary by source, from about 8–10 inches high and 18–24 inches wide to 30–60 cm high and 1–2 m wide; leave room for the larger spread if it will grow unchecked. Its spreading stems and foliage provide the main effect, while the small summer flowers offer a lighter seasonal accent. ## Growing Conditions Grow in a sunny spot and use well-drained loam or sandy soil. Plantmark lists a wider range of light positions, while Ball Seed recommends sun. Avoid planting where standing water is likely. ## Maintenance Allow room for the stems to spread, then trim them back when they reach paths or neighboring plants. Remove damaged growth as needed and keep the soil from remaining saturated. [Plantmark plant profile](https://www.plantmark.com.au/helichrysum-petiolare-silver-star)
