Hemerocallis, commonly called daylilies, is a varied genus of clump-forming perennials with arching, strap-like foliage and flowers that open in succession. Cultivars differ widely in height, color, and bloom timing, so use the individual selection’s label when planning exact spacing or a coordinated display. ## Flowers and landscape use Daylily flowers may be orange, pink, purple, red, white, yellow, or patterned, and many cultivars bloom across summer. Individual flowers last about a day, but a succession of buds extends the display.
