Blaze of Glory is a compact, reblooming daylily with large orange flowers, ruffled petals, and a dark purple edge and center. Its late-summer to early-fall bloom adds a warm focal point when planted in groups or along a sunny border. The flowers open for one day at a time, with successive buds extending the display; see the [cultivar profile](https://www.gardenia.net/plant/hemerocallis-blaze-of-glory/1000) for size and care and [Growing Colors](https://www.growingcolors.com/plant/Hemerocallis-Blaze-of-Glory) for a second size reference.
## Garden use
Plants reach about 25 inches tall and spread 18–24 inches, forming a mound of arching green leaves beneath the flower stems. Site it in full sun or part sun, in a bed or border where the orange flowers can contrast with cooler flower and foliage colors. The cultivar is listed for USDA zones 3–9.
## Growing conditions
Average, moist but well-drained soil suits this daylily. It tolerates heat and summer humidity, but water thoroughly during dry periods to keep foliage attractive. Avoid planting in a spot that stays waterlogged.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flowers and seedpods as they fade. When a flower stem has finished opening its buds, cut it near the base. Remove dead foliage after it dies back in fall; leave healthy leaves in place while they are still green.
