About Early Snow Daylily

Early Snow is a fragrant, dormant-foliage daylily with large, near-white flowers and a green throat. Its early-season flowering and later rebloom extend the display, while the flower stems rise above a neat clump of narrow leaves. ## Flowers and size The [American Daylily Society record](https://daylilies.org/cultivar/early-snow/) gives a 29-inch scape, 7-inch flower, early bloom, rebloom, and dormant foliage. [Brookgreen](https://www.brookgreen.org/plant-collection/name/hemerocallis-early-snow) confirms the cultivar identity and USDA zones 3–9; allow about 18–24 inches for the mature clump. ## Siting Use a sunny to lightly shaded position with garden soil that drains well. Daylilies flower most freely in sun and prefer moist, free-draining conditions, as summarized in the [RHS growing guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/hemerocallis). ## Maintenance Remove spent flowers and finished flower stems as the display ends. Clear dead foliage when it dies back, and divide an established clump in spring or early autumn if it becomes crowded.
