About Entrapment Daylily

Hemerocallis ‘Entrapment’ is a registered daylily with blue-purple flowers above a yellow throat, held on scapes about 26 inches tall. The American Daylily Society records its midseason bloom, rebloom, and semi-evergreen foliage; the RHS describes arching green leaves and summer flowers up to 6 inches across. ## Flowers and placement Use ‘Entrapment’ where its large purple-blue flowers can be seen from nearby paths or seating. It grows in a clump of strap-shaped leaves and is suitable for a sunny or partly shaded border. Its flowering season is midseason, with rebloom noted by the American Daylily Society, though timing and repeat flowering vary with local conditions. ## Growing conditions Choose a site in full sun or partial shade with moist, well-drained soil. The RHS lists chalk, clay, loam, and sandy soils, so the plant can adapt across several garden soil textures when drainage and moisture are appropriate. The RHS gives a broad mature size range, while the American Daylily Society lists the flower scapes specifically at 26 inches. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and during extended dry weather, and remove old leaves as they fade. Leave healthy foliage in place while it is still green so it can support the clump. Divide crowded clumps when flowering declines or when you want to propagate the cultivar.
