Hemerocallis 'Fooled Me' is a clump-forming daylily with golden yellow to bronze flowers, a deep red eye, and ruffled edges. Several buds open in sequence, extending the display beyond the life of each individual flower.
## Site and growing
Give this cultivar full sun or partial shade and moist but well-drained soil. The Royal Horticultural Society lists chalk, clay, loam, and sand as suitable soils and gives mature height and spread as 0.5–1 metre. Chicago Botanic Garden lists USDA Zones 3–9 and July–August bloom. See the [RHS profile for 'Fooled Me'](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/193319/hemerocallis-fooled-me/details) and [Chicago Botanic Garden’s plant record](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/hemerocallis-fooled-me-fooled-me-daylily).
## Seasonal interest
The red eye and crimped petal edge contrast with the gold-bronze flower. Chicago Botanic Garden notes that buds open in succession and that a plant may continue flowering for two weeks or more. Its profile also records visits from hummingbirds and butterflies.
## Maintenance
Remove finished flower stems after bloom. Divide clumps every few years if they become crowded; the RHS recommends division in early spring or autumn, allowing time for roots to re-establish before hard frost.
