About Holiday Song Daylily

‘Holiday Song’ is a compact, midseason daylily with coral-orange flowers, a scarlet eye, an orange throat, and ruffled petals. Its approximately 22-inch flower scapes rise above foliage that goes dormant for winter. ## Garden Use Place this cultivar in a sunny perennial border or group it where the warm flower color can be seen up close. The individual flowers are about 4–5 inches across, and a succession of buds extends the display through the middle of the daylily season. Its modest scape height lets it sit among lower perennials without hiding them. ## Growing Conditions Daylilies flower best with generous light and grow in ordinary garden soil that drains well. Water newly planted clumps regularly while they establish; established plants tolerate some dry weather, though consistent moisture supports better flowering. See [Vermont Flower Farm’s cultivar notes](https://vermontflowerfarm.com/shop/daylily-holiday-song-2-rasmussen-1995/) and the [University of Minnesota Extension daylily guide](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/daylilies). ## Maintenance Remove spent flowers for a tidy appearance and clear old foliage as new growth begins in spring. Divide crowded clumps in early spring or after flowering if bloom declines.
