Hemerocallis 'Hyperion' is a classic daylily with fragrant, lemon-yellow trumpet flowers above long, arching, grasslike leaves. It forms a substantial clump about 35–39 inches tall and 23–35 inches wide, with midseason flowers in summer.
## Garden Placement
Grow in full sun to part sun in a border or mass planting, leaving room for the mature clump. This cultivar is listed for USDA zones 3–9 and grows in a range of ordinary garden soils. Keep soil evenly moist while roots establish, then water during extended dry periods. Its foliage forms a grassy mound and the flower stalks rise above it.
## Seasonal Interest
The yellow blooms open in succession and bring color through summer; several cultivars may rebloom under favorable conditions. The linked cultivar profile provides its exact flower form, season and mature size: [cultivar growing information](https://conservationgardenpark.jvwcd.gov/plants/737/hyperion-daylily).
## Maintenance
Remove spent flower stalks and tidy old foliage as it declines. Divide crowded clumps when flowering weakens. The [RHS daylily guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/hemerocallis/growing-guide) describes general seasonal care and division.
