Hemerocallis 'Longfields Angel' is a fragrant, reblooming daylily registered by the American Daylily Society in 2005 to Gerard Heemskerk. Its butter-yellow flowers have a purple-red eye and greenish-yellow throat; the 3-inch blooms open on 24-inch scapes in midseason. ## Flowers and placement
The upright scapes suit the middle of a sunny border or a mixed perennial bed where the flowers can be seen from a path. Daylilies perform best in full sun but tolerate partial shade; heavy shade can reduce flowering. [RHS growing guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/hemerocallis/growing-guide).
## Soil and water
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and keep young plants watered during dry spells. Established daylilies cope with drought, although they flower best when they have moisture during the growing season. Avoid ground that remains waterlogged. ## Maintenance
Remove faded flowers for a tidy display and cut each finished scape near the base. This cultivar is listed as dormant, so its foliage dies down in winter. Divide mature clumps every few years if they become crowded or flowering declines.
