About New Tangerine Twist Daylily

Hemerocallis 'New Tangerine Twist' is a compact daylily with large tangerine-orange flowers, a faint rose halo and a golden-orange throat. Its mid- to late-summer blooms open in succession above an arching mound of green leaves. ## Landscape Use At about 33 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, this selection fits a sunny perennial border and works well in repeated groups. The flowers are about 6.5 inches across, so leave room to see their pinched, lightly crimped petal tips and warm coloring. ## Growing Conditions Give it full sun or partial sun and average, moist but well-drained soil. Water during dry spells to keep the foliage and flowering in good condition. The [cultivar profile](https://www.gardenia.net/plant/hemerocallis-new-tangerine-twist/1000) lists USDA zones 3–9 and describes its flower color, size, light and soil preferences. ## Maintenance Remove spent flowers for a tidy display, then cut each scape back after its buds are finished. In fall, clear away foliage as it dies back. Divide crowded clumps in spring or early fall to renew growth and make new plants.
