About Night Beacon Daylily

Hemerocallis 'Night Beacon' bears 4-inch black-purple flowers with a broad chartreuse center and green throat. The early-midseason selection can rebloom, and its dark flowers make a strong contrast with light-colored summer perennials. ## Landscape Use The American Daylily Society records a 27-inch scape height and evergreen foliage; SiteOne lists an overall height of 24 to 28 inches and a spread of 18 to 24 inches. Use it at the front or middle of a border, in a small group, or in a container where the flower detail is easy to see. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun to partial shade and average, moist but well-drained soil. SiteOne lists USDA zones 3–9 and summer as its season of interest. The [Society cultivar record](https://daylilies.org/cultivar/night-beacon/) documents its flower color, season, rebloom and foliage type, while the [SiteOne profile](https://www.siteone.com/en/77391b-hemerocallis-x-night-beacon-daylily/p/820322) supplies landscape dimensions and growing conditions. ## Maintenance Remove faded flowers as they finish and cut a scape to the base after its buds are spent. Keep the clump evenly watered through dry periods, and divide it if it becomes crowded.
