About Pandora's Box Daylily

Hemerocallis ‘Pandora’s Box’ is an evergreen daylily with fragrant cream flowers, a cranberry-purple eye, and a green throat. Its early to midsummer display can repeat later, and the flowers rise above arching green leaves. ## Flowers and placement The American Daylily Society records a 19-inch scape, 4-inch blooms, early-midseason flowering, fragrance, and rebloom; [Gardenia](https://www.gardenia.net/plant/hemerocallis-pandora-box-daylily) describes flowers opening in succession and a mature spread of 18–24 inches. Use it near a path or seating area where the scent and eye pattern can be seen. The evergreen foliage keeps a leafy clump after flowering. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun or partial shade, avoiding deep shade for better flowering. A fertile, moist but well-drained soil suits it; water thoroughly during dry weather, especially while the plant is growing. It can fit a border or a roomy container, with space for its slow rhizome spread. See the [RHS cultivar profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/84983/hemerocallis-pandoras-box/details) and [daylily growing guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/hemerocallis/growing-guide) for siting and general care. ## Maintenance Remove faded blooms and finished flower stems to tidy the plant. Divide an established clump in spring or early autumn if it becomes crowded.
