About Perceptive Daylily

Hemerocallis ‘Perceptive’ is a reblooming daylily with heavily ruffled orange-pink flowers, a triangular red eye, and a gold throat. The large flowers stand above green, strap-like leaves and bring a second flush later in the season. ## Flowers and placement Cultivar listings describe plants about 28–30 inches tall, with an 18–24-inch spread. [Gardenia](https://www.gardenia.net/plant/hemerocallis-perceptive/1000) reports mid- to late-summer bloom followed by late-summer to early-fall rebloom; a [garden center listing](https://www.gardencentermarketing.com/plantName/Hemerocallis-Perceptive) also identifies rebloom and use in masses or containers. The rounded form suits a sunny mixed border or a large patio pot. ## Growing conditions Give the clump full sun to partial shade and average, moist but well-drained soil. Water new plants during dry spells and established plants during hot weather to keep foliage attractive. Leave space around the plant for leaves and flower stems; heavy shade can reduce flowering. ## Maintenance Remove faded flowers and seedpods if you want a neater display, and cut the flower stalk to the base once it has finished. Divide mature clumps every few years if they become crowded. The [RHS daylily guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/hemerocallis/growing-guide) outlines general watering, deadheading, and division care.
